The next meeting of the Healesville Amateur
Racing Clubs 2008-2009 season will on Saturday
January 10th. A day at the Healesville "picnics"
is the perfect venue for your family, friends
or work get together. We hold seven
meeting a season between November and April.
Please see about us for full race
dates. Our Christmas meeting on the 13th of December was spoiled by
terrible weather. While the rain was definitely needed, just not on our
race day! The track help up well and raced well all day. only being
downgraded to a Slow 6.
The November 15th meeting was a great success.
The fine and mild weather was enjoyed by
a large crowd. The club would like to thank
all the owners and trainers for their continued
support. Most races had the maximum number
of starters allowed, making for exciting
racing.
The Derby Day meeting was a fantastic day.
The record crowd that attended the Healesville
races enjoyed lovely spring weather and keen
local racing. Many were dressed in their
spring racing finest and picnic rugs covered
the lawns. The bookmakers were kept busy
and even when the red hot favourite got rolled,
the Punter's Club came to the party by backing
the last winner of the day.
The members and committee invite you
to spend
a day at the Healesville picnic races
this
season. We hope our web site provides
the
information you need, but please don't
hesitate
to contact us with any further enquiries.
Our club operates to promote thoroughbred
horse racing at the grass roots of
the racing
industry.
Our aim is to allow the general public
to
participate in thoroughbred horse racing
in the relaxed atmosphere of picnic
racing
and to give all owners, trainers, riders
and officials the opportunity to enjoy
this
sector of thoroughbred racing.
The intention is to continue to develop
and
maintain the Healesville racecourse
and facilities
and to provide community service plus
the
ongoing promotion of Healesville and
the
surrounding district.
